Announcing KCHA’s new Executive Director/CEO: Robin Walls
The King County Housing Authority is pleased to announce that it has selected Robin Walls as its new executive director/CEO. Robin brings to her new role seasoned leadership skills and a passion for providing safe, affordable housing for low-income families and individuals.
“KCHA has long been an industry leader and one of the nation’s most important housing authorities,” Robin said. “I am deeply honored to serve as the next executive director to extend the organization’s legacy as an industry thought leader and trail blazer in providing innovative, effective, and equitable housing solutions.”
With more than 22 years in the affordable housing field, Robin’s extensive experience, deep knowledge of HUD programs and demonstrated record of success make her the ideal leader to advance KCHA’s mission and pursue solutions to the affordable housing and homelessness crises in King County.
Most recently, Robin served as vice president of housing choice voucher programs at the Houston Housing Authority. In that role, she also oversaw the organization’s grant-funded rental assistance programs for tenants. Prior to that, Robin served as the interim housing choice voucher program director for the New Orleans Housing Authority and held supervisory roles at the Chicago Housing Authority’s HCV Program. Robin has also provided consulting and technical assistance to numerous housing authorities around the country.
Robin participates in several professional organizations including the National Leased Housing Association, where she serves on the board, and the National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials, where she serves on multiple standing committees.
Robin hails from Chicago. She holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Chicago.
Robin’s appointment concludes an extensive national search. She will assume her new role on July 18, 2022. Please join us is welcoming Robin Walls to our community.
