WIN Rent Full Recertifications
KCHA does a full review of households on the WIN Rent program every two years. During the year of the review, we will gather information from you and third parties, such as employers. This lets KCHA verify the number of people living in your home and their income. The process starts roughly four months before your anniversary date. If you want to keep your voucher, KCHA must receive all required paperwork from you before this date.

KCHA does an automatic review in the year in between full reviews. It looks only at changes requested by your landlord (e.g., a rent increase) and changes to KCHA's energy assistance supplement. You do not have to fill out any paperwork for these reviews.
Your rent share may change as a result of the recertification process. If the change affects your ability to pay rent, KCHA's hardship policy may apply.
Your landlord can offer you a new lease on your anniversary date. They may also continue the current lease on a month-to-month basis. You must work directly with your landlord if you plan to sign a new lease.
